With four orchestral concerts in the Grand Hall, the entry-level subscription offers a varied cross-section of the Elbphilharmonie’s core programme. The programme includes an upbeat percussion concerto, an impressive Shostakovich symphony steeped in history, a Brahms evening with rarely heard choral works and his First Symphony, Gustav Mahler’s light-footed Fourth and a concert on the theme of »Passion« – with a nod towards Easter and the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet. The series includes such likeable audience favourites as virtuoso percussionist Vivi Vassileva, the unconventional violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Swiss soprano Regula Mühlemann, who has already made several acclaimed appearances at the Elbphilharmonie.
