Description

Elbphilharmonie Subscription 3 bundles together three big orchestral concerts, a piano recital and several outstanding soloists: violinists Hilary Hahn and Alina Ibragimova interpret milestones of music history in the shape of the solo concertos by Schumann and Prokofiev. Japanese pianist Mitsuko Uchida, who gave the first piano recital at the Elbphilharmonie only days after its official opening, honours Hamburg with her presence once again with a solo programme featuring three Schubert sonatas. And the series is rounded off by Teodor Currentzis, the enfant terrible of today's classical scene, who makes a guest appearance in the Grand Hall with his unusual musicAeterna ensembles and Shostakovich's deeply moving »Leningrad« Symphony.
