Due to the Cyclassics, there will be numerous road closures in Hamburg on 8 September. Please allow sufficient time for your journey.

  • 6 – 9 September

    : Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra

To kick off his last season as Hamburg's General Music Director, Kent Nagano presents with his orchestra, pianist Rafał Blechacz and Hamburg choirs three concerts with music from the three »big Bs«: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms – and Mozart.

  • 11 & 13 September

    : NDR Opening Night

As many musicians as could possibly fit on the stage: Arnold Schönberg's monumental "Gurre-Lieder" take late romanticism to the extreme. A unique experience beyond the usual concert evening with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and XXL cast.

  • 12 September

    : Ensemble Resonanz

Unusual programme combinations are a tradition here: star cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras builds bridges between two cello concertos, while Ensemble Resonanz soars high with soundscapes of Bohemian villages and Czech monkey mountains.

  • 17 September

    : Jakub Józef Orliński

Counter-tenor Jakub Józef Orliński has been renovating the classical music scene with breakdance performances to Baroque arias for several years now. In his new programme »Beyond«, he takes on repertoire from the 17th century with Il Pomo d'Oro.

  • 23 September

    : Orchester im Treppenhaus: »KULT«

The programmes of this orchestra are as unusual as its name: beloved classics are performed in new contexts, with exciting discoveries from all epochs in between. Dancing is highly encouraged!

  • 7 October

    : Pianomania: Mariam Batsashvili

Want to enjoy an evening of opera with Mozart, Bellini and Gounod condensed into a one-woman show? Pianist Marian Batsashvili makes it possible in »Pianomania«, where she presents famous arias – virtuosically translated into the sound world of 88 keys.

  • 10 October

: Made in Hamburg: Amber & the Moon

Amber & the Moon take to the stage as part of the concert series with Hamburg bands, bringing indie folk-pop that sings about the highs and lows of life. »Like a warm blanket full of cosiness« is how lead singer Ronja describes the band’s music.

  • 22 – 27 October

    : Brazilian Legends

Brazil stands for musical diversity – and this can be experienced at the Elbphilharmonie. Singer Marisa Monte kicks things off, followed by legends such as improv artist Egberto Gismonti, guitarist Vinícius Cantuária and chansonnière Mônica Salmaso.

  • 8 October / Laeiszhalle

    : Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Chor

The »Hallelujah« from Handel's oratorio »Messiah« gets under your skin like hardly any other work. The Hamburg CPE Bach Choir is now bringing the oratorio to the stage in the German version at the Laeiszhalle – with the »Hallelujah«, of course!

  • 13 October / Laeiszhalle

: Symphoniker Hamburg: Romeo and Juliet

Hector Berlioz was deeply moved and inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless and touching love story. He poured it into passionate, exuberant music for large orchestra, choir and vocal solos – a symphonic dream theatre.

  • 1 March / Laeiszhalle

    : England’s first Opera

When King Charles saw an opera spectacle in France in 1671, he wanted something similar (even more pompous!) at his own court – the semi-opera »Psyche« was created. Sébastien Daucé and his ensemble Correspondances are now bringing the work to Laeiszhalle.

  • 17 June to 6 October 2024

    : Summer break Laeiszhalle

No events will take place in the Laeiszhalle from 17 June to 6 October. For several seasons during summer, the historic building will be modernised in terms of building and event technology, e.g. with better air conditioning and a new lighting system.

  • Register by 16 September

    : Create your own concert

What kind of music should be played? Band or orchestra? And what lighting is suitable? »How to Concert« lets young people aged between 15 and 18 take a look behind the scenes of the Elbphilharmonie to answer these questions and plan their own concert.

  • Discover Music

    : Children & Families

Babys' and children's concerts for all age groups, music theatre for a young audience and imaginative concerts for the whole family – there is a wide range of events on offer for children and families in the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle.

  • Save the Concert!

    : Digital escape game

Just a few hours to go until the concert of the year, but then suddenly it all goes wrong. Become a member of the Elbphilharmonie team and save the concert – complete with tricky puzzles and exciting backstage tours.

  • Concert stream for children

    : Sun, Moon and Strings

Biscuit tins, rain jackets, paper boxes – there's music everywhere. With imagination and great joy, the musicians from Hamburg's Ensemble Resonanz invite us on a musical expedition. A concert stream for children from the age of 6.
