Embark on a sound expedition through the World of Instruments: in the Elbphilharmonie Kaistudios, curious children and adults are invited to discover not only classical instruments of the Western symphony orchestra, but also instruments from all across the world. From the Brazilian repinique, the Ghanian kpanlogo and the Indian pakhawaj drum to the Korean kkwaenggwari gong. And because trying out is known to be more fun than mere listening, all featured instruments may be played by participants – under the guidance of professionals, of course. »Kosmos Percussion« lasts 60 minutes and is perfect for everyone – young and old – itching to try out exotic percussion instruments. Children aged 6 and above may take part, but must be accompanied by their parents. Previous knowledge is not required!
The World of Instruments workshops take place at 14:30 and 16:00 on concert days during the »Elbphilharmonie Summer« festivals and alternate between classical orchestral and percussion instruments daily.
