World of Instruments: Improvisation im Jazz
For Teenagers Aged 14+
The jazz pianist Michael Wollny once said that improvisation is like a »walk through one’s own inner sound library«. And indeed, free improvisation is one of the fundamental elements of jazz. However, the art is not entirely without rules. In particular, a good feeling for interplay is essential when several musicians are involved.
Using a variety of exercises, the »Improvisation in Jazz« workshop for young people aged 14 and above shows how this spirit of the collective can be developed, and reveals the practical and theoretical prerequisites for flawless interplay when improvising.
