The Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón is without doubt one of the most popular and successful artists of our time. His performances in opera houses from Milan to New York, and at prestigious festivals and alongside world-class orchestras, have made the charismatic tenor a great international music star. In addition to a glittering stage career, the versatile artist has also enjoyed success as a director, presenter, author and caricaturist, and he visits children in hospitals and refugee homes dressed as the clown »Dr Rollo«. Villazón now performs his Elbphilharmonie debut with Italian and Spanish masters: works by Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Manuel de Falla and excerpts from zarzuelas, the Spanish form of the operetta.
