A Marvellous Horn Player

Klaus Florian Vogt once sat in the orchestra pit on Dammtorstraße and played the horn in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. But he now works freelance as one of the world's leading operatic tenors, specialising in the music of Wagner. Tonight he puts on a music festival concert with his former colleagues, performing pieces from the Second Viennese School by Anton Webern, Lieder from Mahler's song cycle »Des Knaben Wunderhorn«, and, perfect for the time of year, Schumann's Symphony No. 1 in B flat, the »Spring Symphony«.
