The best of both worlds The best of both worlds

Since Evgeny Kissin tested positive for the corona virus a few hours before the concert, this concert unfortunately had to take place without him. However, Sir András Schiff spontaneously agreed to play a piano solo program so that »the Elbphilharmonie would not remain dark and without music that evening«. In the first half of the concert, Schiff demonstrated what Mozart learned from Bach by juxtaposing one Bachian and one Mozartian composition. He dedicated the second half of the concert to »probably the most underrated of the great composers: Joseph Haydn.«
