For the third time running, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg devotes a festival over Easter to one of the world's particularly fascinating musical regions. After »Transatlantic« (2017) and »Caucasus« (2018), the spotlight from 17 to 23 April 2019 is placed on the multifacetedmusic of Venice. The festival programme features works by classic Venetian composers like Antonio Vivaldi, Giovanni Gabrieli and Claudio Monteverdi as well as contemporary pieces by Luigi Nono and Olga Neuwirth. Six concerts will be given in the Grand Hall, including two previously unannounced: »Der Klang von San Marco« with the Vocalconsort Berlin and the Capella de la Torre (19 April), and »Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria«, a late work by the world's first major opera composer, Claudio Monteverdi, performed by a specialist ensemble under the baton of Fabio Biondi...
