13 March 2020 marked the start of what must be the strangest year in the young history of the Elbphilharmonie. Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau performed the last regular concert on the evening before the first lockdown was announced in Germany. And, like everywhere else, the Elbphilharmonie also had to close its doors. But it’s been anything but quiet here since then: the concert hall opened its digital doors with an extensive programme – watch the year review video now.
