Arvo Pärt live

Simple, mystical, powerful: A moving concert with music by Arvo Pärt – and himself.

Arvo Pärt is one of the most frequently-performed living composers. His contemplative and mystical style is marked by great simplicity: it developed from neo-classicist compositions through modern forms such as serialism and collage techniques to Pärt's famous bell-like triad, the »tintinnabuli«. Pärt's special composition technique is the product of his Christian approach to life and his aspiration as an artist towards spirituality, truthfulnes and purity.

The Elbphilharmonie featured several of Pärt's most important works, performed by artists who are all absolute Pärt experts: the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and conductor Tõnu Kaljuste.

The Concert took place on 2 February 2020 during the festival »Reflektor Manfred Eicher«.
