Alan Gilbert / Igor Levit / NDR Elbphilhar

Pianist Igor Levit makes a guest appearance with the Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Residence.

Alan Gilbert and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra bring the season to a virtual end with a live concert featuring a presenter. Pianist Igor Levit makes a guest appearance: Levit last made a splash at the Elbphilharmonie with his cycle of the complete Beethoven sonatas, as well as with streamed concerts that he broadcast from his own living room during the Corona pandemic. Tonight, he appears together with the trumpeter Pedro Miguel Freire in Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra, which is flanked by works by Thomas Adès and Ludwig van Beethoven. Alan Gilbert himself presents the programme.
