ELBPHILHARMONIE SUPPORT FUND VOL. II

The Elbphilharmonie Support Fund was set up in April 2020 and has been used to provide quick and efficient help for freelance musicians directly affected by event cancellations in the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle during the first coronavirus lockdown. Concert halls were forced to close their doors again from 3 November. HamburgMusik gGmbH has therefore made it possible to support artists affected by the current pandemic-related event cancellations financially.

As a municipal operating company with relatively restrictive specifications for fee negotiations, the artist agreements of HamburgMusik gGmbH do not allow for cancellation fees in cases of a cancelled event. Therefore a further support fund has been set up to financially compensate freelance musicians and artists with up to 60 percent of the original fee, provided that they would have taken part in an event promoted by or in cooperation with HamburgMusik gGmbH that has been cancelled.
