Concerts for Hamburg

A pictorial retrospective of the successful concert series.

At this year’s »Concerts for Hamburg«, members of the public had the chance to listen in to an hour or so of classical music at the highest level – perhaps opening the door for further concert visits in the future.

In the inaugural season, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra played a total of 31 concerts in the Grand Hall, featuring top soloists like pianist Alice Sara Ott or the cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, and conducted by either their principal conductor Thomas Hengelbrock or guest conductor Krzysztof Urbański.

The easily affordable tickets in three price categories – €6.00, €12.00 and €18.00 – were sold out in no time at all, and over 70,000 concertgoers enjoyed an evening at the Elbphilharmonie in the first half of 2017. The next »Concerts for Hamburg« are scheduled for June 2018.
