Children want and need music. And not only the music they hear in the early afternoon TV programs, from the car radios, or in the supermarket, but high quality music made especially for them. With the series »Of Knights and Knaves«, the Elbphilharmonie Kompass invites its young audience to four productions that present the whole spectrum of children's concerts: participation, characters to identify with, exciting staging and communication completely without words. These four concerts take place without pointing the educational finger: There is plenty of room for prose and fantasy. These experiences are especially beautiful and intense, when the parents and children are involved in them together. The Elbphilharmonie Kompass allows its young audience and their supervising adult the possibility, time, and space to forget, to be drawn in, to meet funny characters, to be kept on the edge by thrilling stories and to enjoy wonderful music.
