Elbphilharmonie at Kampnagel
Four projects.
Four concerts that aren't concerts. Or at least not only. When the Elbphilharmonie moves to Kampnagel, listening to music turns into a voyage to new worlds of sound. A voyage that includes stirring visual impressions.
For example, the New York based ensemble »Alarm Will Sound« is known for not simply »sitting« on the podium during concerts. They take command of the room around them in a dynamic way. The choreographer Sasha Waltz is also known for exploring new forms of concert presentation, and is at last back in Hamburg again with the music of Wolfgang Rihm. And while the cult ensemble of modern chamber music, the Kronos Quartet, is used to presenting its cosmopolitan repertoire in a special light, the pianist Leif Ove Andsnes will for the first time present his interpretation of Mussorgsky's famous »Pictures of an Exhibition« with visionary video clips. »Reframed« – this word could be used to describes the entire cycle.
