The organ of the Laeiszhalle

Three concerts in the Großer Saal of the Laeiszhalle.

With a full blast from one of her pipes (and she has 4,527!) sound becomes a physical experience. And a whisper from the flute registers sends hearts and minds to celestial heights. The organ of the Laeiszhalle is without doubt the »Queen of Instruments« – her 59 registers and four manuals and pedals reign over endless sound worlds.

As befits a queen we have invited top international organists to play. In the 2009/10 season Alexander Fiseisky from Russia, Wayne Marshall from England and Thierry Escaich from France will demonstrate their mastery.

They present music from the baroque period to the present, with a strong focus on the Romantic and neo-classical repertoire, the very music which shows the organ off to full regal advantage.
