Don't Push the Sounds
Two concerts in the Großer Saal, three concerts in the Kleiner Saal of the Laeiszhalle.
There will always be music that is new, in tune with the beat of the day, coming about through an experience that the audience can share. The series »Don't Push the Sounds« is dedicated to just such music. It presents composers who write music that is adventurous and exciting, music that takes a stand, for listeners who are not afraid to discover new territory musically.
We present the series »Don't Push the Sounds« in its fourth year in the Laeiszhalle. Guests include Ensemble Resonanz, the SWR Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sylvain Cambreling, and selected artists playing the music of György Kurtág, as well as the composer and conductor Beat Furrer. »Composer portraits« are dedicated to the Greek Georges Aperghis and the Italian Fausto Romitelli – both mavericks of New Music whose sounds get under the skin. That's where we'll leave them. After all: don't push the sounds!
With the support of Nikolaus Broschek.
