Fazil Say - Türkische Nächte (Turkish Nights Concerts)
Fazil Say - Türkische Nächte (Turkish Nights Concerts)
Elbphilharmonie concerts in Turkish – presented by Fazil Say, the multi-talent from Ankara. The pianist and composer, at home on all world stages, has put together a five-day festival for Hamburg representing all aspects of Turkish music, from classical to »Oriental Dub« in which traditional instruments are mixed with electronic beats. Included are the brand new violin concerto by Fazil Say entitled »1001 Nights in the Harem« as well as an interpretation of Goethe's »West-Eastern Divan« by two muezzins, a night concert with improvisation, the unique performance of Baba Zula, and a solo piano recital by Fazil Say at the »Fabrik« in Altona. Turkish music is alive and well in Hamburg – this festival presents its richness, its past and its present.
