Nordic Concerts
Four concerts in the »Großer Saal« of the Laeiszhalle.
The ultimate classical music experience: the orchestral concert. When the Laeiszhalle was built over 100 years ago with its magnificent main hall (Großer Saal) at its centre, what captivated audiences then as now was the warm string and sensuous wind sound.
The »Nordic Concerts« reawaken us to that rich orchestral sound. Four top European orchestras will visit the Elbphilharmonie under the direction of their respective chief conductors. Two of them are among the best of the younger generation: Gustavo Dudamel, whose spectacular career started with the youth music movement of Venezuela, and Latvian Andris Nelsons, who is following in Simon Rattle´s footsteps in Birmingham. Further highlights: Haydn's »Creation« conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner, and the guest performance of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden under the direction of Fabio Luisi. Artistic sound quality of the highest order is guaranteed.
