ElbCasts
Listen to what the artists themselves have to say: musicians from the Elbphilharmonie concerts talk about their personal experiences and views on music. Authentic statements about musical masterworks, composers, and about the musician's own approach to challenging compositions. With rare frankness, the so-called »ElbCasts« illuminate the background and prerequisites of what you experience in the live concert.
The ElbCasts are made possible through the support of the Elbphilharmonie Foundation and the Körber-Fonds for »ZukunftsMusik« (music of the future).
Listen to the israeli pianist and songwriter Idan Raichel, one of the artists of the new festival Sounds of Israel, starting at February 11th:
John Malkovich is Casanova! The world famous Hollywood actor came to Hamburg as star of the first production of the new season of Elbphilharmonie Concerts. In »The Giacomo Variations«, Malkovich slipped into the role – and the wig – of the notorious seducer. Beforehand he found time to visit the construction site of the Elbphilharmonie, enjoying the breathtaking view from the 24th floor whilst talking about Hamburg, the Elbphilharmonie and Casanova.
The Belcea Quartet as artist in residence of the Elbphilharmonie Concerts 2011/2012 performs the complete Beethoven cycle. Meet them at ElbCast:
