Brahms-Foyer

On the first floor, above the entrance to the main hall is the impressive Brahms-Foyer, named after the marble statue of the composer Johannes Brahms by Max Klinger. In the four corners around the centrally placed statue there are further busts of the artists who were especially important in promoting Brahms' music: Joseph Joachim, Clara Schumann, Julius Stockhausen, and Hans von Bülow. This Foyer is the gastronomical center of the Laeiszhalle. During intervals visitors can enjoy their drinks here, from champagne to tomato juice, and discuss what they have just heard. The Foyer is sometimes used for receptions prior to or after concerts, giving a touch of class to such gatherings. It is also regularly used for film and photo shootings.
